The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola kicked off in September, 2017 at Moscow, Russia. Since then, the glorious trophy has visited 6 cities across the world including Colombo, Male and Vientiane. The tour will continue till May during which it will visit a total of 50 countries across 6 continents and will reach over a million fans before returning to Russia, the host country of FIFA World Cup 2018.

Earlier this January, Rizwan Ullah Khan, General Manager The Coca-Cola Export Corporation, Pakistan and Afghanistan Region, announced that the trophy will be visiting Pakistan on the 3rd of February, 2018. As per expectations, fans across the country have expressed their enthusiasm and eagerness to witness the glory of football’s most treasured asset. Pakistanis have also expressed their feelings regarding the importance of such an event and the precedence it will set for the national football community to follow.

Pakistan’s delegation is on its way to Thailand to bring the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy to Lahore on Saturday, 3rd of February. The 16-person delegation includes representatives from media and known figures including Hajra Khan, Captain of Pakistan National Football team, Olivier Sabrie, CEO of TOTAL PARCO Pakistan LTD, John Mathew Galvin, GM Pakistan Coca-Cola Icecek and Rizwan Ullah Khan, GM The Coca-Cola Export Corporation, Pakistan and Afghanistan Region, Younus Khan, former captain of Pakistan National Cricket Team, Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch, singer and song-writer, Momina Mustehsan, singer and song-writer, Maya Ali, television artist, Zainab Abbas, television sports anchor, and sports journalists Umaid Wasim and Faizan Lakhani. The delegation is also accompanied by the football enthusiast Yahya Qureshi, winner of #CocaColaWithFootball competition. The delegation will be bringing the trophy to Lahore on the Coca-Cola Chartered plane along with FIFA representative Lucas and FIFA legend and World Cup Winner Christian Karembeu.

Once the Trophy arrives in Pakistan, it will be taken to Coke Fest where it will be unveiled by Coca-Cola and FIFA representatives and audiences will get a chance to be a part of that historic moment where the FIFA World Cup Trophy will be unveiled for the first time ever in Pakistan.

The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour is just the beginning as Coca-Cola Pakistan has more plans for a series of initiatives to promote this sport across the country. Some lucky winners will also get the chance to attend the FIFA World Cup and represent Pakistan in a Coin Toss ceremony for one of the matches in Russia in July. Coca-Cola has always taken initiatives to promote and support youth development as it firmly believes in the power of this generation. Through this initiative, the Coca-Cola team aims to bring international football to Pakistan.
